By Lisa Ferrara on Thursday, October 22, 2009
Get ready for something new, exciting, and incredibly valuable to all IM-STC chapter members, students, or interested technical communicators!
STC presents a hands-on learning experience for all technical communicators who ever wished to create or enhance their online presence. Join us for a half-day event with sessions on
- how to create an online presence using social networking tools;
- how to maintain an online profile, presented by Amelia Chesley;
- creating an electronic portfolio that highlights your work and skills (including a special focus on blogging);
- hosting options for your new or existing electronic portfolio.
This workshop will be held in a computer lab but feel free to bring your own laptop. Guest presenters will be focusing on each of the topics above and will also be on hand throughout the event to answer questions.
When: 9am–1pm on Saturday, November 14
Where: Weber State Davis County Campus computer lab. WSU-Davis is located at 2750 N. University Park Boulevard in Layton (Google map)
Cost: Nothing for members of STC or sister organizations or for students. All others $10.
