April Event—Competition Awards and Judges Recognition Celebration

2

By on Tuesday, March 30, 2010

On April 16, 2010, we will celebrate the award winning competition entries as well as feat those who judged in each of the three competitions this year.

Our competitions benefit not only the submitter but those who spend time judging the entries.

For those who entered the Competition

  • All entrants receive detailed comments from the judges; this objective peer evaluation supports continuous improvement
  • Winners receive awards from peers, providing a tangible recognition of achievement
  • Winning entries are displayed and award plaques are presented at our Awards Event
  • Winners of the Distinguished Technical Communication award automatically qualify for entry into STC’s International Publications and Online Competitions

Judges have an opportunity to

  • See what others are producing
  • Discuss with their colleagues what constitutes top quality work
  • Put their experience to work to help others in our field

We hope you’ll plan to join us for this celebratory event. We will also announce the winners of the chapter elections.

Date: April 16, 2010

Location: Utah Valley University Liberal Arts (LA) Bldg. Room 116 (see map)

Time: 7:00–9:00 p.m.

Winning entries will be on display, award plaques will be presented, and there will be hors d’oeuvres served throughout the evening. We will also take an opportunity to acknowledge the competition judges.

Please RSVP to Marj Hermansen-Eldard (marjheldard@comcast.net) by April 12 so that food orders can be confirmed.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it. Congratulations to all of the new officers and competition winners!
