How to Add an Event

All future events on the Intermountain site (i.e., all posts filed in the Events category) appear in the home page’s featured slideshow. To make event posts appear in the slideshow, the post needs an image. This is the only type of post on the site that requires an image.

The image looks best when it’s 570 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall. Even if it’s larger than this size, after you click the upload image button, the featured content gallery will resize it to fit the frame.

You can then insert two types of images into event posts: the full image with the 570 x 300 px dimensions, and the thumbnail image with the 150 x 150 px dimensions. Insert each type of image into your post, switch to the HTML view, grab the URLs, and insert them into the following Custom Fields below the post:

  • articleimg: the large image that appears in the front page slideshow.
  • featuredtext: The text that appears below the article image in the front page slideshow. You can add 1 to 2 sentences max.
  • thumb: the 150×150 thumbnail image that appears next to posts on the front page.
